How about some movies?

Hello everyone,

Today's blog is going to be about some french movies. Unlike what some people might believe we do have great movies, usually they are more humoristic but great none the less. In this blog, I will show you some french movies that you can find on streaming platforms such as Netflix.

Let me warn you, they will not be all funny but they will fit many of your moods. I will of course let you know where you can find them, the main actors, the plot (I'll try not to spoil you ;) ) and other informations about it. For these movies I made a selection that you can find on legal streaming website, I might do another one with some that are a bit more complicated to get.

Without further do let's do it

Le Pianiste: distributed in 2002

Resume:

The movie is an adaptation from an autobiography: The Extraordinary True Story of One Man's Survival in Warsaw, written by Wladyslaw Szpilman.
It's about a polish jewish pianist who plays on a radio station in Warsaw and who witness the city change during the second world war. His name is Wladyslaw Szpilman, as you may expect considering the time the book is set and his religion he is forced into the Warsaw Ghetto. The movie is about he lived in there and what he did to survive when the nazis were persecutting him.

The movie is played with many foreign actors and is not only French but also British, Germand and Polish.

Jour J: distributed in 2017

However, the hasard made that Juliette is a wedding planner. Alexia see this as a wedding proposal, say yes and hire Juliette as the wedding planner.
The storyline is about Mathias having to work with his mistress to plan his marriage to his girlfriend.

Les visiteurs: distributed in 1993

Resume:

The movie is set in the 12th century France, at the exception that a bit of fantasy has been add. It's about a knight and his squire who travel in time to fix a mistake that they made. The only issue is that they travel almost 900 hundred years in the future instead of a few moments in the past. This mistake make them arrived at the end of the 20th century. In this new time period they encounter the knight's descendants and they also have to learn how to live in this entirely new world.

The movie will show you to people from the middle age trying to live in a world that isn't theirs. I cannot assure you that you will spend a wonderful time and that you will laugh a lot.

If one movie wasn't enough for you, you can still watch the sequels of Les Visiteurs.

La grande vadrouille: distributed in 1966

Resume:

This movie is one of the most famous french movies in France, it's a true classical. The two main actors: Louis de Funès and Bourvil, were mostly playing in comedies and were known and respected for it. It might be an old movie but it doesn't stop it from being great.

During the second world war and more specially in 1942, a plane crashes and 3 british pilots land a bit all over Paris. They are helped by two French civilians, an orchestra conductor and a house painter, who agree to lead them to the free zone; they thus become, in spite of themselves, actors of the Resistance. The movie is all about their adventure and the run from the German officers.

Le prénom: distributed in 2012

Resume:

During a family diner one of the couple announce that they want to call their son Adolphe. Which as you can imagine is perceived as a big problem and start a debate about the name that can be given to children and why some are inappropriate. This debate is going lead to hidden resentments and unspoken words will be revealed and scores will be settled.

Thank you for reading this post, for another post I was thinking of  doing movies that lead to foreign adaption. For instance, Intouchables or LOL, you might know some of them :)
